We believe that a full building survey is the most satisfactory means of conveying information to our clients about the condition of the property and other material aspects prior to exchange of contracts. 


Surveys - Our approach

A full building survey is a comprehensive and detailed inspection of the property and is particularly recommended for older, larger or altered and extended properties as well as those that are known to be in a poor state of repair.

All elements of the building are thoroughly inspected, with a more cursory inspection of grounds and boundaries, ancillary buildings or garden features; recommendations are made for repair and maintenance where appropriate.

Plumbing, heating and electrical installations are operated and commented upon, with recommendations for further specialist inspection if thought necessary.

The full building survey report is flexible and can accommodate your particular concerns or queries. If you have plans for the property, such as an extension or alterations, they can be specifically considered and reviewed by our architectural team.

For your convenience an insurance rebuilding (reinstatement) cost will be included in your building survey report.

A market valuation can be included if required

For more complex buildings, we can arrange a separate and more detailed mechanical and electrical inspection by a specialist services engineer under our direction.


Market Valuations

Market Valuations are carried out in accordance with the RICS Professional Standards (Red Book). The Surveyor will carry out a brief visual inspection of the property in order to assess its overall condition, size and characteristics and undertake all necessary research to identify suitable comparable evidence and arrive at the final figure.

We can provide an independent market valuation for probate, divorce proceedings, tax purposes or just for your peace of mind. 



A snagging inspection can be provided for a newly built or refurbished property, this is an inspection that will pick up on minor defects and can accompany a full building survey.
